I have a 4105, but my 4103rd Since Amazon does not sell the 4103, I heard that 4105 is so near 4103rd I do not know how to operate the radio. Never used. I bought a passive subwoofer to power two I have. That’s more than enough to shake the walls. I wrote a review for the reviewer said, everything can be done from the receiver to read the CD (because the radio does not work). You can also connect a DVD (both audio channels) or by phone, simply use one of the inputs, such as tape, CD, AUX. I do not know if anyone has any passive subwoofer, but if you can not power the receiver. I really like mine.

Does what I wanted

I wanted a receiver so I could listen to the radio and CD’s in my living room. I did not need surround sound nor did I want to buy additional speakers. My home has on open plan so I’m not just in the living room sitting and listening. It works great. Its a little more difficult to set up preset stations but that is easily forgiven because the sound quality is better than my last unit.

Good bang for the buck

Needed an immediate solution cheap two channel receiver for a client and with Amazon Prime it was cheaper in the long run to order it here and avoid paying a distributor a premium for blue label UPS. One of my tech’s installed it and he said it had a beefy power supply, not IC driven but discrete transistor outputs so what more can you ask for in a budget receiver.

Great Deal For The Money

I bought this unit to replace a 40-year-old Akai stereo receiver that finally gave it up. I really only use it as an amplifier for a bedroom DVD-CD player and television powering a pair of speakers. The satellite programming package I use has music channels included and I live in the country so I don’t use the FM receiver section of the unit, so I can’t comment on that. It sounds and works great so far (a big sonic improvement over my old receiver) and has more than enough inputs for my needs, so I feel it is an outstanding buy for the money. I also like having a remote control with a mute function for use with the TV which the old Akai receiver didn’t have. I’m considering buying another one for powering some speakers I own to use with my computer instead of the inferior ones that came with it.

Good inexpensive receivers still exist

Bought this to power my house wide built in speakers. It will power Polk floor standing main speakers along with the house system…with ease. At first it would clip if I played it too loud, but after time it quit doing that and plays like one of those old Japanese receivers from the seventies. Clean, full frequency response power…an amazing deal.

The first unit I received played for about 20 minutes and then clicked to stand-by. Each time I turned it on, it clicked to stand-by again. My luck with electronics was worsening…and I thought I had made a mistake buying something like this on line. I went to the Amazon return website, wrote briefly what was wrong, and immediately received an acknowledgement along with confirmation that UPS would be by the NEXT DAY to pick it up.(Which happened) Meanwhile, Customer Service was in the process of sending out a replacement, which came within five days at no cost to me. The replacement unit was shipped free, as well. WOW, I couldn’t believe how simple the return process was. I was sure I was going to have to pack it, load it in the car, take it to the UPS store, pay for the return, etc., etc., etc. 
By the way, the second unit works fine, and drives my two outboard speakers fine; it also handles my CD, DVD player, and also has a TV/aux input so that the satellite radio stations from Direct TV also play through the speakers…. It handles two sets of speakers (A and B hookups)and comes with a very handy remote. Good stereo sound system on the CHEAP!

Had four perfectly good stereo speakers, bought this to power the speakers for improved TV audio. 
Took the unit out of the box, plugged it in, jacked the TV audio out to the unit, jacked in the four speakers, turned everything on, and Voila! 
Sure beats the TV’s built in speakers, we can blow ourselves right out of the den with the sound if we choose. Great bass too. 
It’s a no-brainer to set up, ours has worked well for at least a year now, and it looks right at home on our black glass TV stand. 
If you already have 2-4 speakers, you can have yourself a great sounding audio system for a fraction of the regular price. 
Bear in mind, this is no frills, it’s not “surround sound”—you are merely buying a receiver that will power up to 4 speakers. 
We don’t use the radio so I won’t address the radio at all.

Bureaus act as partners for researching speakers and finding the perfect match for your event. They can assist with determining the appropriate mix of content, personality and entertainment for the presentation. Finding the right speakers who can meet your needs and budget is the bureau’s objective.

Bureaus generally represent a large roster of speakers (ranging from local business experts to worldwide celebrities), and can also book speakers they don’t exclusively represent. I received a Father’s Day Gifts Birthday / (actually I have a set of in-a-box audio speakers Boston) and it is amazing! I spent part of two days to connect, disconnect and I had an old receiver, equipment and speakers, connect and configure devices and home theater speaker installations. Relatively easy to configure speakers using Audyssey MultEQ application. When we finally connected and configured everything – awesome! I watched my first Blu-Ray through PS3 Trek (Star 2012) My wife and I cried because it was too – I had a 10dB noise! My only complaint (and minor) is that I had more than one component input (I have about 1G Xbox 360 and Wii) and the input transition is slow. Audio sync seems faster than the movie. It may take a few seconds, the image of the DirecTV receiver (HDMI is a DVR, but the problem is probably the DVR). I want to resolve the situation getting a new Xbox that supports HDMI and connect the Wii to the receiver element. Best money spent on consumer electronics years!

Least expensive unit with Audyssey MultiEQ room correction

I’ve been listening to a great podcast about audio and video technologies and found that this was the least expensive of the Denon models that offered the Audyssey MultiEQ room equalization technology. I don’t have a large room for my home theater. Actually it’s a little out of the ordinary in that I have the orientation in a non-ideal setup. I wasn’t sure how this room equalization technology would work in my setup and I wasn’t sure that I would get incredible sound from a unit this inexpensive but I decided to try it anyway. I had a Yamaha receiver previously that had a proprietary calibration setting with a microphone for automatic setup. My experience with that wasn’t very good. Assuming that I read the instructions correctly, which I believe I did, the result ended up turning off my sub completely. I got it tweaked fairly well after playing with it for awhile but, needless to say, I was a little skeptical about the Audyssey setup because of this experience. The reason I decided to try it out anyway was because of the difference between how Audyssey and other companies do this automatic setup process. The Audyssey calibration, for lack of time, is much more complex, complete and precise. I am completely blown away at the difference this has made in the complete sound of my system – both movies and music. I have a pretty good collection of DVD-Audio surround sound music discs and what a difference the new receiver with the Audyssey MultiEQ calibration technology has made. I run Polk Audio RM85 satellite speakers and a Polk Audio PSW110 10-inch active sub through this receiver and the combination is perfect for my room environment and my listening preferences. I highly recomment this receiver

Nice entry-level Home Theater Receiver

The AVR-591 is a solid receiver that does everything I need it to do. This is my 1st Denon product and I must say that it seems to “ooze” quality. Using the included mic with the auto setup program was simple and produced great results when using 5.1 for movies. Needless to say I’m very happy with my purchase.

HDMI Handshakes are common with cable/satellite boxes

This issue the above poster discusses is not the fault of the 591, rather it is typical of an HDMI handshake issue that is common with many different types of cable/satellite boxes connected to HDMI repeaters (ie AVRs).

Does everything I expected

I bought the Denon AVR-591 to simplify my home-theatre setup and so far it’s working perfectly. The Quick Select buttons also power-on the unit and so my preschool kids are able to press just one button (‘Quick Select 1′) and get the TV to work. I was also able to reprogram our Logitech Harmony universal remote so that it sends fewer commands. 

I also appreciate the analog-to-digital video conversion (the kid’s composite-video Click Start game is converted to HDMI) as it allows me to leave the TV on one input and never need to change it; this also makes the system simpler and more predictable. 

The Denon configuration menus are relatively easy to use though I do have to keep the manual around to help me find some of the ‘advanced’ settings. You are required to run their Audessey speaker-test before you can adjust a lot of things, e.g. speaker levels (the center speaker needs to be louder), or ‘Night Mode’ volume compression. 

The one problem I’ve had is that I sometimes lose the audio signal/sync, e.g. when I pause my Tivo S3. Switching to/from another input or program always fixes it, though, so I’m only knocking 1 ‘star’ off my score for the unit: I give it 4 Stars.

Page bought these as surround speakers. The hardest part was to run my speaker wire through walls, ceilings, etc. Once done, install the speaker went easy and rewarding. great sound! I looked at a few different manufactures prior to making my purchase and for the price and quaility, these speakers are hard to beat. I have 4 of them mounted in the game room area of my basement and they fill the room even at low program levels. I have nothing but good things to say. Excellent Choice.

Good sound , easy to install, wrong mechanical info

Tried to install on my dry wall ceiling (7cm from a concrete ceiling) and discovered that the speaker depth is not like published online (nor in the documentation that came with the product). 

Finally after a failure to carve in the concrete ceiling, I used a with sponge to extract the speaker 12mm from the ceiling. 

Other than that surprise, the installation when OK and the sound is great (for surround speaker) 

The price is fare. 

All in all this product is positioned well on the value/cost axis.

Good surround speakers

I’ve had these speakers for about a year now. They’re high quality, easy to install, and pretty decent sound. These are good surround speakers. You have to remember that when you set your expectations for their sound. They work well and I haven’t had any problems out of them, but they’re pretty limited in their sound field. They do the job well for surround speakers, but if you have powerful towers, you may want to consider the 8″ version of these. These have served me well, but at times get a bit overpowered by the front 3 speakers and the sub. 

Again, no real complaints. Good quality, decent sound, but just remember you’re buying a 6.5″ speaker.

Compared to Speakercraft and Monoprice

I recently installed three different ceiling speakers at three very different price points in three different rooms connected to my “b” output on my Denon amp. I use all of these at moderate volume levels to listen to TV or music. 

Monoprice 8″ Kevlars in my carpeted master bedroom – /pair! 
Polk RC80i in my tiled bathroom – 9/pair 
Speakercraft AIM 7 three in my small tiled kitchen – 9/pair! (by far the lowest price I saw on these) 

I installed all of these in my attic. I placed plywood across the studs directly above the Monoprice and Polks but did not enclose along the sides (so there is not a complete box enclosing the speakers – although there is insulation enclosing those open sides). I did this to ensure that the sound wasn’t getting lost in the attic. The speakercrafts are already enclosed. 

I purchased a cheap speaker switch through which I can turn on or off the speakers in each room. I also tried to install in wall volume controls in each room. I purchased 4 Pyle impedance switches which was nightmarish. Very frustrating. Almost impossible to connect any wire thicker than 20 gauge to the tiny connectors. These switches were very poorly built. Even if the volume controls were good it still added a lot of work getting the speaker cable down the wall and then back up into the attic. I bailed on that part of the project. 

Monoprice is a website that sells av wiring, cables, connections, HD wall mounts, etc at SUPER LOW prices. I’ve bought a bunch of stuff and have never been disappointed. The speakers are great for the price, but if budget is not an issue I wouldn’t recommend these speakers. Just a bit muffled and not quite as responsive as the other speakers. No sign of distortion at high volumes. 

Polks sound alive. Maybe lacking a bit of bass to be used as primary speakers, but that is expected. I’m very happy with the sound of these for music in a secondary room. It’s great having music in the bathroom! 

Speakercraft sound good. At the levels and for my purposes, though, they are pretty much equal to the Polks. They do have an enclosure behind them so the bass response is better than the Polks but not a huge difference. I guess if you need speakers to crank up as primary’s these would be the best, but for the much higher price than the polks, I would not spend the money on these. 

If I had to do it again and I would get the Polks for each room. For the price these were overall the best value.

Easy way to remove the speaker grills…

A quick tip: When you remove your new speakers from the box, just twist the speaker housing lightly in your hands and the speaker grills, which were set into the speakers at the factory, pop right off. No need for picks or paper clips or anything else.

I’ve read alot about proper viewing distances for viewing blu stream movies and HDTV. My viewing distance is way outside of the inventory. I have a 65″ RP CRT which is 1080i, and my viewing distance is give or take a few 16 feet away. Is buying a blu shaft of light a player a waste of my money or should I invest surrounded by a good upconvert dvd player instead.

I just get a PS3. Now, I’m just have a small issue with playing blu-ray movies. When I examine a blu-ray movie, the picture doesn’t fill the entire eyeshade. But when I watch a regular DVD on my PS3, it fill most of the screen. (The movies appear as if I’m watching them on a full peak television.) How do I fix this so that the movies permeate up my tv screen? (I enjoy a 46 inch widescreen Sharp Aquos tv, if that make a difference.)

BOSE desktop PC speakers into a 150 watt amp?
Hello, I have bought these speakers http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-enterta… They nouns the equivalent, being BOSE, of much larger speakers. I essentially connect the speakers to the amp as you would connecting an ipod to a stereo system using the AUX red and white. I needed to do this to get my piano and microphone (plugged surrounded by the amp) coming through the BOSE speakers – I did this and it sounded fantastic – !but I am worried whether this is safe for my BOSE speakers – as turned up loudish, sounds muffled I presume keeping at a suitable volume will be ok?!! I am aware PC speakers enjoy an amp built in, but connecting a microphone and piano to this is impractical Also when I play low bass frequencies, my 150 watt amplifier makes louder supporter noises?? I have a nice surround nouns system and am currently using two bose 201 series III speakers as my front left and right. thay serve theyre purpose rightfully but they are also 17 years weak. So I was wondering if I should preserve the bose speakers are replace them sith some new BOOKSHELF speakers. I stress bookshelf because I enjoy special wall mounts made for bookshelf speakers and dont feel approaching taking them down. Broken Receiver – how to fix?
Hi I have a JVC heir with a broken output jack. The Right Speaker jack be working fine, and one day lately seemed to travel out. When I connect the speaker to that jack, you can hear the audio, but it’s very fluffy – no where close to equivalent the volume of the other speakers. Any suggestions how to fix this? – PS yes, the balance is correct – if I isolate the Right speaker the volume is in recent times not as loud as it should be. And I’ve hooked that speaker up to the Left jack and it worked fine – so I don’t think it’s a speaker issue. How can I fix the jack? gratefulness!

-500 to spend on custom home audio system, call for guidance!!?
I want to get the best i can near my money so i am prepared to buy the individual speakers, amp, build the boxes, etc. I have -500 to spend and I want to build a custom 5.1 surround nouns. I am new to this so if someone could furnish me some advice or recommend something that’d be great! I’ve build a custom sub for my vehicle so i have some culture. Recommending upon getting deals or buying used parts would be better because i touch I can get more for my money buying used. thankfulness

“limewire” problam?
what should i do if the bars that are supposed to be green ( on the not here side corner” are red right now (well simply 1 of them is green ) and i really need to use lime lead right now, what should i do to label all the bar green otherwise saying to achieve the connection.

“Multichannel Direct” is not glorious stop nouns…is it?
I just get the denon avr-1908 receiver and enjoy everything set up…but I have my ps3 hooked up beside an HDMI cable but when I use the receivers menu to display the audio input it say the input is “Multi Ch direct” and the signal is PCM, with a “fs” of 48hz. I don’t regard these settings are ideal are they? Shouldn’t it be Dolby Digital 5.1, or DTS, and the signal should be lpcm next to a higher hz? My option for audio on the ps3 is Linear PCM, and bitstream, i have it set as linear pcm…

5.1 Sound converters?
A few months ago I bought a set of Logitech X-540 speakers and they work great, the only problem is I cannot do true 5.1 surround sound from them when connecting to my PS3. The problem is that the speakers just have 3 nouns connectors (green, yellow and black) as an input and the PS3 solitary outputs 5.1 sound within HDMI or Optical. Is there a cheap solution that would allow me to convert any the PS3′s HDMI or Optical 5.1 sound output into the three different colored cable?

52″ rca will not turn on smell something burning.?
A couple weeks back my RCA 52″ Rear projection turned past its sell-by date while I was watching it. It took me something like 10 tries to get it to come backbone on. Tonight when I tried to turn it on I heard static consequently it went rotten then put money on on (never gave a picture) and go back sour. 5-speaker set-up rapid quiz!?
Hey… I just graduate and due to my unemployed days I’ve become a tech-junkie. I be first obsessed next to enhancing the picture but now the nouns is my next target. Its confusing because the label say “FRONT LEFT SPEAKER”.

I need to extend my xbox 360 component cable is it possible for me to use couplers and extend it beside a normal rca connected to it? Would it work? Thanks

About home theater systems?
hey guys…i have a sony hd tv…however, i dont hold home theater system…i will be getting playstation 3 so i’ll have dvd/blu-ray dvd player combo surrounded by playstation 3.. now i merely need the beneficiary for home theater systems…and speakers obviously…i’m thinking of getting 5.1 or 7.1 channel receiver…my cross-question is what should i look for in the beneficiary to get the best out of it….should i look for more watts, number of input output ports within the back, etc…?

About how lots hours does a projectors bulb start to bring down the brightness?
I’m looking at front projectors specificly the infocus LP6500 or the Proxima DP 6500. They say the bulbs should be replaced after 1000 hours and it could finishing as long as 2000 hours. I’m not sure if the bulb slowly losses it’s lumenace.

About room thermostats?
a mains opetated room thermostat requires three conductors to see to enable it to operate correctly.can you connect the thermostat to an existing two core and cpc cable?

Adjusting Speakers With Amp. Large Or Small?
I would like to know when adjust my speakers with the amplifier,how do you know to set them to immense or small? Is it by how many watts they can feel? What is the difference in nouns?I’d like to hear more large crisp tones,I’m getting plenty of bass. I have 2 floor standing front L & R beside built-in powered sub-woofers,a center speaker,and 2 surounds.

Advice for element music system underneath 35k?

Am I at any risk to transport an amplified signal to powered speakers?
This is probably a stupid question for you audio experts out in attendance… I’m replacing a Fosgate surround sound system beside a Denon AVR-1908 A/V receiver. The Fosgate didn’t amplify the signal to the center, flipside or subwoofer channels. Instead, I own powered B&O 2000 rear speakers (that are high, narrow and expensive), a powered Klipsch subwoofer, and a Phase Tech center speaker that have been running stale a single-channel amp. All are wired, not wireless, speakers When I replace my current Denon amp (that ran the unpowered front speakers) and the Fosgate beside the new Denon, do I hold to worry that an amplified signal will mar the powered rear speakers or the subwoofer? I assume, too, that I’m better stale jettisoning the center speaker amplifier. Thanks for the back!

Amp to my unpowered Sub?

Anamorphic widscreen the more i swot up the more confused I become?
I’ve got a DVD (collateral damage) which claims to be 1.85:1 widescreen, it is encoded organic at 720×576, so streached it should be 1066×576, here’s thee thing though, most of my players read it and play it at 1024×576 (16:9) and when i looked at the crude image it have 85 pixel top/bottom black bars presently 576-85-85=406 and 720/406 = 1.77 (16:9) so now i really am confused, someone please minister to
