Composing, recording and reproducing music is not enough; it should reach the ears of the music lovers. I have a 4105, but my 4103rd Since Amazon does not sell the 4103, I heard that 4105 is so near 4103rd I do not know how to operate the radio. Never used. I bought a passive subwoofer to power two I have. That’s more than enough to shake the walls. I wrote a review for the reviewer said, everything can be done from the receiver to read the CD (because the radio does not work). You can also connect a DVD (both audio channels) or by phone, simply use one of the inputs, such as tape, CD, AUX. I do not know if anyone has any passive subwoofer, but if you can not power the receiver. I really like mine.

Does what I wanted

I wanted a receiver so I could listen to the radio and CD’s in my living room. I did not need surround sound nor did I want to buy additional speakers. My home has on open plan so I’m not just in the living room sitting and listening. It works great. Its a little more difficult to set up preset stations but that is easily forgiven because the sound quality is better than my last unit.

One of my tech’s installed it and he said it had a beefy power supply, not IC driven but discrete transistor outputs so what more can you ask for in a budget receiver.

Great Deal For The Money

I bought this unit to replace a 40-year-old Akai stereo receiver that finally gave it up. I really only use it as an amplifier for a bedroom DVD-CD player and television powering a pair of speakers. The satellite programming package I use has music channels included and I live in the country so I don’t use the FM receiver section of the unit, so I can’t comment on that. It sounds and works great so far (a big sonic improvement over my old receiver) and has more than enough inputs for my needs, so I feel it is an outstanding buy for the money. I also like having a remote control with a mute function for use with the TV which the old Akai receiver didn’t have. I’m considering buying another one for powering some speakers I own to use with my computer instead of the inferior ones that came with it.

Bought this to power my house wide built in speakers. It will power Polk floor standing main speakers along with the house system…with ease. At first it would clip if I played it too loud, but after time it quit doing that and plays like one of those old Japanese receivers from the seventies. Clean, full frequency response power…an amazing deal.

The first unit I received played for about 20 minutes and then clicked to stand-by. Each time I turned it on, it clicked to stand-by again. My luck with electronics was worsening…and I thought I had made a mistake buying something like this on line. I went to the Amazon return website, wrote briefly what was wrong, and immediately received an acknowledgement along with confirmation that UPS would be by the NEXT DAY to pick it up.(Which happened) Meanwhile, Customer Service was in the process of sending out a replacement, which came within five days at no cost to me. The replacement unit was shipped free, as well. WOW, I couldn’t believe how simple the return process was. I was sure I was going to have to pack it, load it in the car, take it to the UPS store, pay for the return, etc., etc., etc. 
By the way, the second unit works fine, and drives my two outboard speakers fine; it also handles my CD, DVD player, and also has a TV/aux input so that the satellite radio stations from Direct TV also play through the speakers…. It handles two sets of speakers (A and B hookups)and comes with a very handy remote. Had four perfectly good stereo speakers, bought this to power the speakers for improved TV audio. 
Took the unit out of the box, plugged it in, jacked the TV audio out to the unit, jacked in the four speakers, turned everything on, and Voila! 
Sure beats the TV’s built in speakers, we can blow ourselves right out of the den with the sound if we choose. Great bass too. 
It’s a no-brainer to set up, ours has worked well for at least a year now, and it looks right at home on our black glass TV stand.

How to Wireless Speakers Work?

More and more music lovers are transitioning from the regular conventional speakers to wireless speakers. Regular speakers are still popular and there are people who invested a lot of money in conventional speaker boxes and these are still as great as ever But those in tune with music have began to see a limitation with regular speakers. One of them is the unsightly wires that run from the music receiver or tuner to the speakers. If you have a lot of speakers then the wires can form a tangled mess behind the unit and when it comes time to untangle them the whole exercise can become a major headache. Then there is the risk of someone tripping on the wires and hurting themselves not to mention that if there are little children within the vicinity of the wires they can pull them out and interfere with the sound. In some cases, these cables have started fires in houses and apartments. Thus the strong case to transition to wireless speakers.


Wireless speakers are just normal speakers in appearance but rather than use a transmitter cable from the tuner to the speakers, they rely on radio frequency waves in much the same way a radio or a cell phone works. It is not uncommon to see the speakers, the tuner and a third device whose sole purpose is to transmit the signal. This device, called the transmitter, is connected to the tuner via a cable. An amplifier is also used and this is to magnify the signal and boost its quality. The signal transmitter also has a cable running from it to the electrical outlet on the wall. The frequency range for wireless speakers is the same as that of wireless or cordless phones, about 900MHz. The sound can even travel through walls for a distance of up to 300 feet.


One advantage with wireless speakers is that the sound can actually be transmitted through walls. This means that the speakers need not be in the same room as the tuner. For some, this is especially workable in the event that they want speakers in the bathroom or kitchen or even outdoors. Wireless speakers are also ideal in an zone that has small children or animals in that they can be placed out of range where they cannot access them or interfere with the sound.


Wireless speakers are definitely going to be the way people listen to music in the future even though conventional speakers with their wires are still in use in a lot of homes. One downside of wireless speakers is that they are limited in the distance where the frequency signal can reach. Wired speakers can function regardless of their distance from the tuner as long as the cable can reach them. Also, wireless speakers are subject to sound distortion because the signal is transmitted in the air much in the same way that a radio transmits. This means that if there are other wireless devices within the same vicinity the sound quality may suffer.

Bookshelf Speakers: These can be ideal for a small room as they are specifically designed for mounting on bookshelves, brackets and foot stands. They consume less of floor space and can be placed on existing furniture. The clearance spaces needed by them are also less than other speaker types.

Selecting the right kind of speakers that enhance your music system can be a tedious job. Since speaker bureaus get paid from the speakers fee, they receive compensation only when you book a speaker they suggest.

Bureaus act as partners for researching speakers and finding the perfect match for your event. They can assist with determining the appropriate mix of content, personality and entertainment for the presentation. Finding the right speakers who can meet your needs and budget is the bureau’s objective.

Bureaus generally represent a large roster of speakers (ranging from local business experts to worldwide celebrities), and can also book speakers they don’t exclusively represent.
